The Worst Gadgets
My goodness, my goodness. Just when you thought that things couldn't possibly be worse than a robotic rubber monkey head, you're proven wrong.
There are some real doozies in this list, but my favorite has to be the USB Audio Turntable. And, I still have quite the collection of vinyl to convert! It's something akin to using a 100 dpi scanner to preserve the nuances of the Mona Lisa to me. Useless.

Yeah, but how else will you get those old albums recorded to mp3? Our church is trying to copy old cassette tape recordings of sermons onto mp3. They purchased a tape player that fits in a 3.5" computer bay, but (get this) connects by wires externally to the sound card!
I like the USB turntable idea better.
If you have a working turntable, you then purchase a cheaper and more versatile audio CD recorder or other audio digital recorder (maxidisk, hard drive whatever). In that way, you may record to full fidelity audio or chose a compressed audio format like mp3. You may then use the CD recorder or digital audio device again and again!
The point: The USB turntable is a one-trick pony with crappy quality.
